Derrell G. Crimm, CFP®, CRPC®

Senior Partner

Derrell grew up playing sports through high school and college and, as a baseball player at the University of Alabama, loved being part of a team. After college, Derrell became a minister, where he began serving and counseling his congregants. Team play and a servant's heart led him to the financial planning arena. Derrell loves the collaborative approach of working with clients to accomplish their financial goals. He has more than 15 years' experience as an independent financial planner working with families, business owners, military personnel, and the ministerial community.

As a business owner himself, Derrell understands the challenges of this dynamic environment where you balance the financial needs of the business and your family. Derrell and the team at AC Financial Partners specialize in family and business financial matters from estate planning, business succession, and retirement planning, to comprehensive investment strategies.

Derrell spent his formative years traveling the world as the son of a military father. He spent more than 10 years in Germany and various U.S. postings before returning to his family home in Alabama. College led Derrell to the University of Alabama, where he received his BS in commerce and business administration majoring in accounting. He next received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to joining AC Financial Partners in 2003, Derrell directed retirement, investment, tax, and compensation planning for the Alabama Baptist Convention, State Board of Missions.

Derrell is an active member of the community, where he served on the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce board of directors as chairman of the business development committee. Derrell is a former board member and member of the Financial Planning Association of North Alabama (FPANA) and a member of the Birmingham Estate Planning Council. He currently serves as chairman of the supervisory committee for Mutual Savings Credit Union. Derrell is also a consultant providing seminars on financial education to the military in all branches of the service on military bases worldwide from Japan to Italy.

Derrell is an avid golfer who can be found most Saturdays at Vestavia Country Club hanging out with his Hoofers golf group. Secondarily, travel and the open road continue to beckon to him. Derrell and his wife, Terry, have a daughter, Kara, in high school and a daughter, Holly, in graduate school.

Linda Allison, CFP®, CRPC®, AEP®, CDFA™

Founder, Senior Partner

Linda has always been a problem solver.  She loves the challenge of analyzing a situation and working to find a solution.  Linda likes working with people and realized that her financial skills and expertise were a perfect match for advising folks on their financial needs and goals.  When she founded AC Financial Partners, she had one core principle to guide her remain independent so she and her firm could provide impartial, comprehensive financial guidance and advice to her clients. During the more than 20 years at AC Financial Partners, this principle has served her and her clients well.

Linda has always been a firm believer in education and working to improve your professional skills.  She has earned many industry certifications with her most recent being the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).  Having been divorced, Linda has seen the process up close and came to realize that many people did not have the financial acumen that she had to guide them successfully through this stressful, emotional process.  As a CDFA, she works with spouses to ensure that settlements are appropriate for both the short term and long term.  A financial expert, such as Linda, can remove the emotion from the process and focus on the math and provide the guidance that many folks need.

Prior to founding AC Financial Partners, Linda was an executive vice president at AmSouth Bank where she served 15 years in executive leadership roles in audit, trust operations, and bank operations.  Her banking career began at Nations Bank as a staff internal auditor in Greensboro, NC, and then moved on to AmSouth in Birmingham to serve as assistant vice president, special projects administrator.  Linda interrupted her banking career to work for Johnson and Johnson as a senior staff auditor in the International Division.  Linda’s German language skills had her traveling the globe to all German-speaking areas of J&J. 

Linda earned a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College; a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; a master’s of business administration (MBA) from Samford University with honors; and is also a graduate on the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Linda is an active alum of Samford University, where she serves on the Brock School of Business Advisory Board and was recognized as the 2012 Alumnus of the Year.  She is also the owner of “Rex” who in addition to being the family pet, is also a retired Samford University bulldog mascot.

In addition to work and church, Linda is an enthusiastic golfer having attended the LPGA School in San Diego.  She is past president of the Vestavia Hills Club ladies golf association.

Clark Whitaker

Director of Client Services

Clark Whitaker joined AC Financial Partners in 2014 as director of client services. Clark has a strong customer service background and operational skills along with various professional skills that were acquired from over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Clark works directly with our clients. He facilitates the setup of new accounts, movement of assets, and client requests on a daily basis. His goal is to provide the best customer service possible for our clients to ensure their satisfaction.

Teah Jackson

Marketing Coordinator

Teah Jackson joined AC Financial Partners in 2017 as marketing coordinator. She came to the office from Southern Living where she was the marketing research manager. Teah is married to Jeremy Jackson and has two sons, Henry and Maximilian, who are at Pizitz Middle School and Vestavia Hills Elementary Central. 

Teah is responsible for setting up meetings and maintaining our company's calendar. She plans and executes our events, sends out client communications, and maintains our website.
